TRAININGS IN 2004:

  • The Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS) presents the Training of Trainers in HIV/AIDS Community Based Care and Support training course scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya from 4 – 22 October 2004. This is an intensive 3-week learning opportunity for programme managers, trainers of community-based service providers, health educators, programme officers, and donor agency field staff.

    Facilitated by international training experts the learning atmosphere is lively, friendly, creative and participatory using an approach that emphasises “learning by doing”.

    Participants in this course will acquire skills to:

    · Mobilise the community to provide community-based HIV and AIDS care and support to PLWHAs and other affected members of the community;
    · Provide home-based nursing care for PLWHAs;
    · Identify care and support needs of PLWHAs;
    · Communicate and counsel those infected and affected;
    · Train and transfer care and support skills to trainers of service providers.

    CAFS invites you and/or members of your staff, grantees or collaborating partners to apply for admission to this course. The fee for this three-week course is US $ 2,100. The fee covers tuition, training materials, supplies, training-related field trips and certification awards.
